How To Stop Lusting As A Christian

HOW TO STOP LUSTING AS A CHRISTIAN
A bold biblical teaching on lust, pornography, temptation, self-control, holiness, spiritual warfare, and why Christians must stop making excuses for sexual sin.
Many people do not want freedom from lust.
They want comfort while continuing in it.
They want to keep the music, the videos, the scrolling, the fantasies, the private sin, and still feel close to God.
That is not repentance.
Jesus Said Lust Is Sin
Notice what Jesus did.
He did not only deal with the physical act.
He exposed the heart.
Stop minimizing what Christ called sin.
Stop calling it normal.
Stop calling it harmless.
Stop acting like God does not see the heart.
“Every Man Does It” Is A Lie
People will say:
- • “Every guy struggles with lust.”
- • “It’s impossible to stop.”
- • “God understands.”
- • “Nobody is perfect.”
- • “At least I’m not physically doing anything.”
That is how people justify staying weak.
Yes, temptation is real.
But temptation is not permission.
Scripture does not teach helplessness.
Scripture teaches responsibility.
Modern Culture Monetizes Lust
Modern culture is not neutral.
It profits from your weakness.
It sells lust through:
- • pornography
- • music videos
- • immodest content
- • social media feeds
- • entertainment
- • dating apps
- • fantasy culture
- • constant sexual suggestion
And many Christians defend the very things feeding their sin.
Stop pretending the world is trying to help your soul.
Stop Feeding The Flesh
People pray for purity while feeding lust daily.
- • thirst traps
- • sexual movies
- • immodest content
- • pornography
- • fantasy thinking
- • music filled with lust
- • private scrolling
- • secret accounts
Scripture says make no provision.
Not a little provision.
Not controlled provision.
Not weekend provision.
No provision.
Pornography Is Destroying Men
Pornography is not harmless entertainment.
It destroys:
- • discipline
- • confidence
- • focus
- • marriages
- • purity
- • spiritual strength
- • leadership
- • self-control
- • intimacy
- • hunger for God
And yet people protect it like it is some private little weakness.
Many people fear being exposed more than they fear offending God.
That is dangerous.
You Must Flee
The Bible does not say manage it.
The Bible does not say flirt with it.
The Bible does not say test yourself around it.
It says flee.
Some people keep getting burned because they keep standing close to the fire.
Cut Off What Leads You To Sin
Jesus was showing the seriousness of sin.
Some people refuse to delete apps.
Refuse to unfollow accounts.
Refuse to stop watching filth.
Refuse to block websites.
Refuse accountability.
Refuse to change their environment.
Then wonder why lust controls them.
Lust Is Not Just A Man Problem — It Is A Soul Problem
This is not only about men.
Men and women both must guard their hearts, eyes, minds, and bodies before God.
But Christian men especially must stop using masculinity as an excuse for lack of self-control.
A man with no self-control is exposed.
No walls.
No defense.
No order.
No protection.
Holiness Requires Discipline
The will of God is not confusing here.
Sexual purity matters.
Holiness matters.
Self-control matters.
Obedience matters.
Lust Can Cost You Your Soul
This is where people want the message softened.
But scripture does not soften sexual sin.
Read that slowly.
Those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Do not play with what can destroy your soul.
Do not laugh at what Christ died to save you from.
Do not protect sin and call it a struggle.
Final Charge
Stop feeding lust.
Stop protecting compromise.
Stop making excuses.
Repent.
Cut it off.
Discipline your eyes.
Discipline your mind.
Obey God.
Fight sin seriously.
Pursue holiness seriously.
Follow Christ seriously.
