One of the most dangerous teachings in modern Christianity is the idea that a person can never fall away from God no matter how they live afterward.

Scripture repeatedly warns Christians about drifting, falling away, becoming lukewarm, returning to sin, and abandoning the faith.

HEBREWS 3:12 NKJV
“Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God.”
The Bible does not teach unconditional security for rebellious living.

“Once Saved Always Saved” Argument

Many people teach that once a person is saved, they can never fall away no matter what they do afterward.

But scripture repeatedly warns Christians to remain faithful.

1 CORINTHIANS 9:27 NKJV
“But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.”
Even Paul warned about becoming disqualified.

“They Were Never Really Saved” Argument

When people see warning passages, many respond:

“Well, if they fell away, they were never really saved.”

But scripture does not speak that way in every warning passage.

The Bible warns brethren. The Bible warns disciples. The Bible warns people who had received the knowledge of the truth.

2 PETER 2:20-22 NKJV
“For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome...”

Peter says they escaped the pollutions of the world and then became entangled again.

You cannot return to something unless you left it.

Do not erase biblical warnings just to protect a doctrine.

Jesus Warned About Branches Being Cut Off

JOHN 15:5-6 NKJV
“If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered...”

A branch must first be connected before it can be cut off.

Jesus did not say, “Do not worry, you can never be removed.”

Jesus warned believers about failing to remain in Him.

Can Someone Fall From Grace?

GALATIANS 5:4 NKJV
“You have become estranged from Christ... you have fallen from grace.”

Scripture literally says people can fall from grace.

You cannot fall from somewhere you were never in.

This is why people must stop building confidence on man-made slogans and start listening to and obeying scripture ALONE! Let God be true and every man a LIAR!

Willful Sin Warning

HEBREWS 10:26-27 NKJV
“For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins...”

This passage was written as a warning to people who had received the knowledge of the truth.

It is not a game.

Continuing in willful rebellion while claiming eternal safety is spiritually dangerous.

The Lukewarm Christian Problem

REVELATION 3:15-16 NKJV
“Because you are lukewarm... I will vomit you out of My mouth.”

Jesus did not praise lukewarm Christianity.

He rebuked it.

Many people want comfort without obedience, grace without repentance, and salvation without faithfulness.

“Nothing Can Separate Us” Argument

Some people quote Romans 8 and say nothing can separate Christians from God.

But Romans 8 does not teach that a Christian cannot willingly turn away from God through rebellion, unbelief, and disobedience.

God is faithful.

But people can become unfaithful.

Scripture must be understood together — not isolated into comforting slogans.

False Security Can Destroy Your Soul

A person who believes they can never fall away may stop watching.

They may stop repenting.

They may stop examining themselves.

They may start making peace with sin.

1 CORINTHIANS 10:12 NKJV
“Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.”
If falling were impossible, that warning would be meaningless.

Final Charge

Do not build your confidence on man-made theology.

Build it on remaining faithful to Christ.

Stay obedient.

Stay repentant.

Stay watchful.

Do not drift away from God while convincing yourself you are still safe.

The goal is not to live terrified.

The goal is to live faithful. YES. You CAN lose your salvation if you do not remain faithful until death. "Revelation 2:10"

Remain in Christ. Do not return to sin. Do not fall away.
