On Friday, July 13, 2012, our Make-A-Wish request was granted. We were driven by a handicapped limousine to the Hyatt Marriott hotel in Boston, where we stayed overnight in the Presidential Suite. In the morning, we were served breakfast and shortly afterwards Michael W Smith joined us. Michael stayed with us for about an hour, before catching a plane home . He prayed over our meal, took pictures and sang a few songs for us. He had just gotten off of a week long cruise from Canada to Boston. We had hoped to go on the cruise with him and Jeremy Camp, but Avery’s medical needs were too much for them to handle. Grace had actually met Jeremy a year or two before at one of his concerts, so we have been blessed to have met two of the people being used by God for their musical abilities. Music is one of the only things that Avery really responds to, so we thank God for it and play it and sing it for him all the time. The hour spent with Michael was wonderful. He is a very down to earth kind of guy, in spite of his long and successful career in the music industry. We look forward to meeting him again, whether on this side of eternity or the next. God bless!
PS: Michael granted us permission to post pictures and/or videos of our meeting. We will do so after getting permission from Make-A-Wish too.
